Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. vs. Epic H.A.C.K.S.: Which Action Figure Line Is Right for You?

If you're a fan of Boss Fight Studio's highly articulated action figures, you've likely encountered two major lines: Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. and Epic H.A.C.K.S. Both offer incredible detail and poseability, but they cater to different collector preferences. Understanding the differences can help you decide which line to invest in, whether you're a seasoned collector or just starting out.

In this comparison, we'll break down the key aspects of each line, from scale and articulation to customization potential and available accessories. By the end, you'll have a clear picture of what sets them apart and which one aligns with your collecting goals.

Scale and Design Philosophy

The most obvious difference between Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. and Epic H.A.C.K.S. lies in their scale. Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. figures are built on a 1:18 scale, standing about 4 inches tall, which is perfect for detailed displays and compatibility with other 3.75-inch lines. This scale allows for intricate sculpting and a wide range of accessories, making each figure a miniature work of art.

Epic H.A.C.K.S., on the other hand, is a larger 6-inch scale line, offering more presence on the shelf and easier handling for those with less nimble fingers. The larger canvas also means even more detailed paint applications and larger accessories, which can be a major draw for collectors who prefer bigger figures.

• Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S.: 1:18 scale, approximately 4 inches tall
• Epic H.A.C.K.S.: 1:12 scale, approximately 6 inches tall

Articulation and Playability

Both lines feature Boss Fight Studio's signature articulation, with over 30 points of movement. However, the execution differs slightly due to scale. Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. figures are incredibly poseable, allowing for dynamic action poses despite their smaller size. The joints are tight and durable, making them ideal for photography and display.

Epic H.A.C.K.S. figures offer similar articulation but with a slightly more robust feel, given their larger size. The joints are designed to handle more weight and stress, making them great for heavy play or customizing. If you enjoy swapping parts and creating unique characters, both lines offer that flexibility, but Epic H.A.C.K.S. provides larger components that are easier to work with.

Customization and Accessories

Customization is a huge part of the H.A.C.K.S. appeal. Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. figures are known for their interchangeable heads, hands, and gear, allowing you to build a vast array of characters. For instance, the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Greek Series Green Mamba Gorgon Paint Master showcases the intricate detailing possible in the smaller scale, while the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Myrmidon Warrior Pre-Production Sample gives a peek into the development process.

Epic H.A.C.K.S. takes customization to the next level with even more accessory options and larger parts. The Epic H.A.C.K.S. line often includes more elaborate armor and weapons, making it easier to create distinct looks. Additionally, Boss Fight Studio offers accessory packs like the MIGHTY STEEDS - ELVEN MINI GEAR KIT - ACTION FIGURE ACCESSORIES and the MIGHTY STEEDS - AUSTRALIAN TACK KIT - ACTION FIGURE ACCESSORIES, which are compatible with both lines, enhancing your display and storytelling possibilities.

• Both lines support head, hand, and gear swaps
• Epic H.A.C.K.S. parts are larger and easier to handle
• Accessory kits like Mighty Steeds gear work across lines

Collectibility and Community

Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. has been around longer, building a dedicated community of collectors who appreciate the smaller scale and the challenge of painting and customizing tiny details. The line includes a wide variety of characters, from Greek mythology-inspired figures like the Green Mamba Gorgon to fantasy staples like the O'Grung Gang Goblin Ransacker.

Epic H.A.C.K.S. is newer but rapidly gaining popularity, especially among those who prefer larger figures. The community is active, with many collectors sharing their Epic custom builds online. If you're looking for a line with a growing fanbase and fresh releases, Epic H.A.C.K.S. might be the way to go.

Which Line Should You Choose?

Your choice ultimately depends on your personal preferences. If you value intricate detail and enjoy working with smaller figures, Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. is a fantastic choice. The 1:18 scale allows for impressive displays and is perfect for dioramas or desk setups. On the other hand, if you prefer larger figures that are easier to handle and customize, Epic H.A.C.K.S. offers a satisfying experience with its 6-inch scale.

Consider your existing collection. If you already have other 3.75-inch figures, Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. will fit right in. If you're starting fresh or prefer a more substantial figure, Epic H.A.C.K.S. provides a solid foundation. Both lines offer exceptional quality, so you can't go wrong either way.

In the end, both Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. and Epic H.A.C.K.S. deliver outstanding quality and customization. Whether you choose the intricate 1:18 scale of Vitruvian or the bold 6-inch presence of Epic, you'll be adding premium figures to your collection.
